If you can’t remember your email address or username, you can try and get a password reset for different email addresses (the website will tell you if the email address is not registered to use the Review Tool).
If you are not the administrator for your organisation, you do not require a login. You can access your results by clicking the link you were sent inviting you to partake in the tool. Your administrator can send you another link if needed.

I haven’t received my confirmation link.
Please check in your spam and if it’s not there please reach out to review@arataiohi.org.nz.
I’ve finished my review. How do I finalise it?
When everyone has completed their responses and the review has closed then your review should automatically close and your recommendations show up. If this has not occurred, the administrator can finalise the review manually by clicking on the cog in the top right corner above the box that says ‘In progress’.

How many people and/or who do you recommend takes the survey?
There is no cap on how many people can use the Review Tool!
We recommend asking all people from all levels of your organisation to complete the survey. This could include people in governance (board or CEO), people in management (overseeing kaimahi, programme planners or coordinators) and kaimahi (all your frontline youth workers or ground-staff).
Your recommendations will be based on average results for each question – so the more answers you submit, the more accurate your results and recommendations will be!
Do you recommend young people who use our service take the tool?
At this stage, no. Simply because the Review Tool is set up to analyse the way organisations/youth workers work with young people.
However, we are looking at developing a rangatahi lens.
How often do you recommend we complete the survey?
We recommend every 12-24 months.
Please don’t feel overwhelmed by the recommendations! You don’t need to do them all right away! Take your time to work your way through them. It is best to use the Review Tool again after taking some time to implement the recommendations.
I think that my organisation might have signed up already, is there a way I can check?
Flick us an email and we can check for you: review@arataiohi.org.nz
Alternatively, if you think you have done this before but can’t remember, simply try a password reset for your email. If your email isn’t in our system, then you may not have used the Review Tool before.
Who sees my results?
When you complete the tool, YOU can see your results, and you can view these whenever you like by clicking on the link that was sent to you when your first took the tool.
Your individual results can not be seen by anyone else. See Terms and Conditions for more information.
Your results are then collated with everyone else from your organisation to form the overall results and recommendations for your whole organisation.
Your organisation’s administrator will receive the collated results and recommendations once everyone has completed the survey.
Can I change my answers?
You cannot change your answers after you have submitted them, so we suggest taking your time to complete the survey.
You are able to save your answers as you go and you can jump from section to section using the navigation categories at the top of the page.
If you want to think about a question for a while, just click ‘save and continue later’ and our clever tool will remember the results you have already answered.
My organisation works with more than just youth. How should I use this tool?
The Review Tool is made specifically to see how your service aligns with the Mana Taiohi Youth Development Principles i.e. how you work with youth.
If there are parts of your organisation/service that works with other age groups or has a different focus, we suggest using the tool and answering the questions based ONLY on the work your organisation does with taiohi (young people aged between 12-24 years old).
The person who was managing this has left our organisation, can I access the results that were under their account?
Yes – you’ll need to contact us so that we can change the administrator log-in email address for your organisation: review@arataiohi.org.nz
I’m keen, but I need to convince the rest of my organisation. Help me!
We would love to help! If you’re in Auckland or Wellington, we would love to visit your organisation and ‘give a tour’ of the tool to whoever is interested.
Alternatively, we can arrange this electronically anywhere in the country.
Here are some reasons why we think the Review Tool is great:
- Ensure your youth work practice is aligning with Mana Taiohi
- Track where your organisation is at
- Measure your progress over time by scheduling biannual or annual reviews
- Find out if your governance, management and kaimahi are all on the same page
- Receive recommendations from experts on how to better your youth work practice
How are the results calculated?
The results are based on the collective responses of each person who completes the tool. You will receive results and recommendations based on each individual question, each section and a visual graphic of how your team feels you are integrating the principles of Mana Taiohi and the Code of Ethics for Youth Work in Aotearoa, within your practice. You can review your results by location or role as well as overall.
Recommendations are provided based on your results, you will get more recommendations in an area where you may need more support and less in an area where you all believe you are doing well.
If you are at the start of your journey, you will be in the learning space, if your organisation is doing the work you’ll be growing and if you’re totally in the zone, you’ll be transforming!
These are supported by suggested reading and resources.
No one is individually identifiable.
We already do loads of internal reflection and external reporting for funders. How will this add value?
If the benefits of internal reflection and external reporting aren’t needed for you, no worries!
Just use the tool for access to quality recommendations from experts in the Youth sector!
